3D Shapes
Last week, we learned about 3D shapes. We identified some 3D shapes in our classroom and discussed some 3D shapes that we might find at home. We identified a cube, a cone, a sphere and a cylinder.
We then used play-doh to create some 3D shapes. We had lots of fun doing this!
Check out our cool creations!

We watched some videos about 3D shapes which helped to extend our learning. We can identify a cuboid and a pyramid now too!
We displayed images and shapes in our classroom to consolidate our learning. We enjoy learning in a bright and colourful classroom!

We chose to focus on one 3D shape in particular: a cube. We learned that it has six faces, eight vertices and twelve edges. We identified these properties on the large yellow dice in the photograph above.
To conclude this learning, we constructed our own cubes using its net. We cut it out and folded the relevant parts. We decorated and designed it using crayons. Then, we used glue to stick it together. This was a little difficult for us but we love a challenge! We learned a lot from this activity and are looking forward to taking our cubes home.

We enjoy using our Maths Eyes. Maths is all around us!
